The ingredients are simple and easy to get: lemon, ginger and honey.
Everybody is familiar with the healing properties of the lemon, which in addition to vitamin C contains organic acids, works as a great immunity booster and is recommended for colds, while ginger is a absolutely magical and beneficial root.
Using ginger stimulates mucus secretion and thereby relieves cough and pain in the throat. Ginger has an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-toxic properties, and is therefore used for the prevention of influenza and colds.
Ginger is also an anti-histamine, and therefore is used for allergy. It has many anti-inflammatory properties.
The chemical compounds that ginger contains, are useful in the prevention of prostaglandin biosynthesis process, which is responsible for the occurrence of inflammation.
For the preparation of this antiviral drink you will need:
- 2 small or 1 large lemon, together with the peel
- 1 medium ginger root
- 1 glass jar of approximately 0.5 l
- 200 ml of raw honey
Wash the lemon and peel the ginger. Blend them in a blender. Add honey, stir. Put the mixture into a clean jar and cover it with a lid. Store in the refrigerator.
You should take one tablespoon daily, and children should have one teaspoon. Also, you can put this mixture in tea or other hot drinks.
